Our Goal
At MyCommunityGardens, we are building stronger communities by connecting those who want to garden with those who have land to share. Our mission is to ensure that anyone with the passion to grow can do so—transforming underutilized yards, vacant lots, and green spaces into thriving gardens that benefit everyone.
For landowners, our platform provides an innovative way to reduce landscaping costs by partnering with local gardeners who maintain and beautify their properties in exchange for personal garden plots. This mutually beneficial arrangement turns routine maintenance into purposeful cultivation, fostering sustainability while cutting costs.
For gardeners, we offer opportunities to access land, grow fresh food, and connect with a network of like-minded individuals dedicated to sharing knowledge, resources, and harvests. Our community forum and Trading Post make it easy to exchange seeds, cuttings, and homegrown produce while strengthening local food security.
By working together, we can cultivate not just gardens, but relationships, resilience, and a shared commitment to greener, more self-sufficient communities. Let’s grow together!
Through partnerships, fair agreements, and responsible stewardship, we ensure that these community gardens are assets, not burdens, providing undeniable value that strengthens neighborhoods, fosters engagement, and enhances the quality of life for all.
Together, we can bridge the gap between land and people, turning city spaces into thriving, shared resources that nourish both the land and the community.
Community Focus
Create profiles, register fruit trees, and connect with locals for fruitful exchanges.
Rent garden spaces in local yards, fostering community growth and sustainable gardening practices.
Join discussions on gardening tips, crop success, and share unused land for cultivation.
Often times as people grow older, yard work becomes harder and harder to do. This made way for landscape companies whose primary focus has been maintenance. The fruits in the trees sit there unpicked, eventually falling down for the landscapers to dispose of.
MyCommunityGardens mission is to showcase another type of gardener, those of the edible landscape type, to connect homeowners who have yards and fruitful trees but perhaps not the energy or means to keep up with the work.
This program will allow gardeners to help the property owners by maintaining clean and beautiful work areas where they can grow their fruits, herbs, vegetables, flowers, while providing goods and services to the Hosts (the landowners renting the property) in exchange for the use of the area.
Cultivating Together
At MyCommunityGardens, we believe that strong communities grow from the ground up. Our platform is built on the principles of collaboration, shared resources, and mutual benefit, ensuring that everyone—regardless of space or experience—has the opportunity to cultivate their own food and contribute to a healthier, greener world.
We foster connections between gardeners and landowners, transforming private and public spaces into vibrant gardens that reduce waste, lower costs, and enhance local food security. Through our Trading Post, community forum, and knowledge exchange, we empower members to share skills, swap harvests, and support one another in their gardening journeys.
Together, we are not just growing food—we are growing relationships, self-reliance, and a deep-rooted commitment to sustainable living. A stronger community starts with a single seed, and we’re here to help it flourish.
Shared Spaces
Partnering with Cities for Community Gardens
At MyCommunityGardens, we believe that access to garden space is a fundamental community need—one that benefits public health, local food security, and environmental resilience. Rather than simply reimagining unused spaces, we seek to work alongside city officials, urban planners, and local organizations to create intentional, well-managed community garden programs that enhance public spaces while respecting existing land use.
By collaborating with cities and private landowners, we can help identify suitable locations—such as underutilized park areas, vacant lots, schoolyards, hospital greenspaces, library grounds, shopping centers and business/industrial parks —that can serve as public-access gardening sites. These spaces can provide:
- Fresh produce for communities, especially in food deserts.
- Lower landscaping costs for municipalities through volunteer-maintained green spaces.
- Educational opportunities for schools, libraries, and community programs.
- Therapeutic gardens in hospitals and public wellness centers.
- Environmental benefits, such as improved air quality, pollinator habitats, and urban cooling.
